CoastObs Project
CoastObs News
Long live CoastObs
Last April, we had our final project meeting. In the past 4,5 years, we have been working on developing a user-relevant platform that offers validated information products based on satellite remote sensing. Does CoastObs end here?

On the contrary: CoastObs has just begun in earnest! The CoastObs consortium will continue as a commercial water monitoring products & services provider.

CoastObs final meeting
CoastObs final meeting
April 22nd was the day we should have gathered in person and say a more proper and warmer goodbye. However, we sadly had to do it virtually and keep the spirits up with the filters zoom meetings can offer.
Interactive e-training platform
Our awesome & interactive e-training platform is out!
If you are interested in coastal monitoring and environmental reporting, or if you work in fisheries and aquaculture, if you studied an Earth discipline (hydrology, ecology, meteorology, oceanography, glaciology, geology); if you work in the military, intelligence, if you are a diver or a researcher, if you work in coastal engineering, then this e-learning is for you!
CoastObs Users Section
Do you want to know who have we worked for all this time?
We have just opened a new section in our website about our users. The work we are doing and the products we are developing are for them based on their wants and needs. Would you like to know who they are?
European Aquaculture Magazine
CoastObs featured in the European Aquaculture Magazine!
On the Volume 46 (1) - March issue of the European Aquaculture Society Magazine, CoastObs is featured in a 5-page article where all our upcoming products are explained in detail.
Remote sensing
New CoastObs paper published beginning of the year
The focus of the paper is the use of advanced Earth Observation (EO) products over a variety of scales and resolutions, and to document the latest developments in coupling EO with biological and ecological models applied to a variety of aquaculture contexts.
Shellfish sector
Use of satellite images for the shellfish sector: new, but promising!
The use of satellite images will make it possible to better predict, monitor and respond to harmful algal blooms in the future, and CoastObs will be able to help with that.
GEO Aqua Watch
We participated in GEO Aqua Watch webinar series
The Lightning Talks Webinar Series is a 3 week series of webinars, offering an opportunity to hear various speakers provide AquaWatch Community project updates in a series of round talks. You can still enter and check the recording of the presentation we did.
