Personal data that we process
CoastObs collects and/or processes personal data because you are either subscribed to our newsletter, or use our services (e.g. e-training), and/or because you provide them to us yourself. There may be various reasons why we collect personal information about you as an individual, such as:
You visit or use our websites or other online services
When you visit our website or use an online service, we record information such as passwords, IP addresses, and browser settings. This information is necessary to allow you to access, operate the website/service, and comply with security and legal obligations relating to the operation of our site. In addition, we collect information about your activities during your visit. We do this in order to personalise your use of the website/service. Among other things, we collect statistical data to help us improve and further develop our websites, products and services.
You can contact us for information, support or services
If you contact us (online or offline) in connection with a request for information, support or questions about a product or service, we collect information that we need to fulfill your request, to provide you with support or access and to contact you. For example, we record your name and contact information, as well as information about your request, your agreement with us, and the execution, delivery and billing of your order. This may also include information about a customer satisfaction survey. We keep such information for administrative purposes and to safeguard our rights.
You are a (potential) customer, supplier or partner
If you are a (potential) customer, (potential) supplier or (potential) partner, you will provide us with information such as name, contact details, function or position, and company information, for example for the purpose of contract management, delivery of products and services, provision of support, billing, service or relationship management or setting up a partnership. We will retain this information as long as you are a customer, supplier or partner. We keep records of former customers, suppliers and partners for the purpose of performing any future services, for any future cooperation and to keep you informed of developments. If you do not want that, please let us know at any time.
We register individuals who visit our sites and locations (name and company contact details) for both the protection and security of persons, property and information.
Provision to third parties
The information you provide to us may be provided to third parties if this is necessary to carry out the purposes described above. For example, if you are a partner in a (potential) partnership, we may share data with the other partners for the implementation of the partnership.
How long we keep personal data
CoastObs does not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data are collected, including ensuring that our processing complies with relevant laws and regulations (e.g. audit, accounting and legal retention periods), settling disputes and formulating, exercising or protecting against legal claims in countries where we do business.
Accessing, modifying or deleting data
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to revoke your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by CoastObs project and you have the right to data transferability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we hold about you in a computer file to you or another organisation of your choice. You can send a request for inspection, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or a request for withdrawal of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to firstname.lastname@example.org. To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your identification document with the request. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.
Changes to our Privacy Statement
We may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time, as well as any other specific privacy statement. When we make changes to this Privacy Statement, we will add a new date to the top of this Privacy Statement.
